Mustang until late 1991 was completely forbidden for the foreigners. This is the reason, Mustang remained veiled in mysteries for centuries. It is tiny Kingdom on the Tibetan plateau hidden in the mist of the mighty Himalayas. Now, it is no more a restricted area since 1991.Mustang has lured trekkers for many years. The area is part of the Tibetan plateau, high, dry and beautiful.

It is very different from the other famous treks because it still requires to camp and to arrange oneself for supplies. A difficult trek for experienced and equipped travelers. Like Dolpo, this place requires to purchase a permit from the authorities. However, keeping in view of the most fragile nature of ecology and culture of Mustang and it's people.
